Practice gratitude on the go.

Practice gratitude on the go.

Giving thanks for the little things in life genuinely feels good and can make you a happier person in the long run.  There are many ways to express gratitude, but I find the most natural for me is to express gratitude on the go.  As an added bonus, with this practice, you will spend more time being truly present, taking in your surroundings and connecting with the people around you.

One way to do this is to remind yourself why you are grateful for the activities that fill your calendar.

When you work out, remind yourself what a blessing it is to be able to relieve stress.

When you have a night out with friends, remind yourself how fortunate you are to have the freedom to unwind and reconnect with the people you care about.

When you go on vacation, remind yourself how lucky you are to be able to experience new parts of your country or the world and the natural beauty in those places.

Another way to practice gratitude on the go is to swap “I have to…” with “I get to…”

Today, I get to go to work and solve a challenge that will impact millions of people.

Today, I get to go to the grocery store and buy fresh and healthy food for my family.

Today, I get to have a medical checkup and learn ways to improve my health.

This minor change of perspective can open your eyes to how fortunate we really are living in this modern age with so many resources at our disposal.

When you adopt a gratitude mindset, you practice noticing the good in all things and simply noticing changes everything.
